AL Parking System

Since the AL Priority system is a multipurpose parking system, I purchased this system with intention of using one of the "other" purposes, as did many other people. Unfortunately, due to my ironic mass of luck, I've never actually encountered any laser speed measuring devices after purchasing this item. It seems as though the entire state of CT and also NY stopped using laser speed measuring devices as soon as I installed this on my car. I've had it installed on my car for a month now, and the only function of the AL Priority system that I get to use is the parking assist. It works great too! I never thought I'd be saying this but, PLEASE! SOMEBODY SHOOT ME WITH A LASER!!! I WANT TO SEE IT WORK!!!! *knocks on wood* As far as the installation process, it requires patience if you plan on doing it yourself. Cars these days are very compact in design and allow little to no room for any additional devices being installed in them. It's up to you (or whoever is doing it for you) to find the best and most efficient placement of each component. You also have to be very mindful of where you place each wire for the system and proper routing. Obviously keep them away from moving parts, and if you're like me, I like a clean install, so I kept as many things as possible out of site, behind/under my dashboard (2013 Impreza). As far as the wiring configuration goes, I preferred not to use the the vampire connectors that were supplied with the kit for my electrical power connections because they can be destructive to whatever wire that you crimp them to. Instead, I crimped a ring connector on the control unit ground wire and fastened it down through a small hole in the metal structure of my car for ground (make sure the surface is sanded or at least clean for good continuity). For the power wire, I actually soldered it to the back end of the 12 volt cigarette socket in my dashboard. I know that there are two extra wires provided from the control box for auxiliary control of your car, but I chose not to use them. For the record though, my car in particular has a standard transmission, which also comes with an automatic brake module that holds the brake for you when you go to hold the clutch in on a hill. Technically speaking, I could actually use the extra relay wire from the control unit (one of the ones I didn't use) and wire it to the brake hold module on my car! So whenever there is a laser alert, the control module will lock my brakes within a couple milliseconds!!! Boy would I feel bad for anybody tailgating me in that scenario. The hardest part of installing the sensors is finding a place on the front end of your car that they can securely be installed. The second hardest part is making sure they are aligned. The brackets that were supplied with the kit won't work or fit in some cars with the way they are built, so you may have to resort to fixing the sensors in the correct position (very important) and then gluing/sealing them in place. Although there is a level included with the kit, it only helps you with the up and down alignment, not side to side alignment. This is where I wish I had a special straight edge tool that would make the side to side alignment easier. I understand that most cars have curved front ends, so a straight edge may not be able to be placed over the sensors, but I was thinking if you had a straight edge that had protruded surfaces on each end, you may be able to make it work. Maybe AL Priority can come out with one. It would be super helpful, I'd surely buy it if I did it all over again. -Steve

Beats the competition HANDS DOWN!

I replaced a competetitor's product (LI) with the AL Priority, and I must say I am VERY glad I did. From the protection it provides, and the ease of use, it is the best system out there, HANDS DOWN! The best feature for me? The ability to update the CPU via USB flash drive - no more opening up the dash! Do your research before you buy and remember - you get what you pay for with the competition, but they don't even come CLOSE to the level of protection afforded by the AL Priority!

AL Priority

The install and programing was very easy and the AL priority works as advertised. The small size made it easy to fit under the dash of my 2014 corvette. I am using this with the blue tooth module which works great and makes it a clean install because there is nothing visible in the car. I gave this 5 stars because it's well made and state of the art technology, nothing I've seen comes close.

The best system, hands down!

I've been interested in this hobby for over seven years and I've tried it all. From the budget competitors to the top of the line and I must say ALP takes the trophy. Excellent customer service and a company that listens to their customers to make new products. The build quality is superior to the rest and the small heads pack a punch for their size! If you know what's out there in the wild then you know this is the choice to make. ALP!
